No less than 194 composers - one fifth of them from abroad - took part in the International composition contest and composed their unique Music for Car Parks soundscape. Based on both the originality, musical and conceptual skills as the functionality and artistic value, a professional jury chose for the surprising and intriguing creation of George De Decker (B) entitled "Avec le bruit d'un vol d'oiseaux de nuit qui passe". The piece can be heared from the 8th of may in hundreds of Interparkings across Europe.
The three winners were:
George De Decker (B), wins € 2500, a package of tickets for performances at the Concert Hall and one year long free parking in an Interparking of his choice.
The duo Mark Ijzerman & Roald van Dillewijn (NL), won a package of tickets for performances at the Concert Hall and 6 months free parking in an Interparking of their choice.
Jarno van Es (NL), wins a package of tickets for performances at the Concert Hall and 3 months free parking at an Interparking of his
choice.
Also the audience could choose from the shortlist of 10 finalists based on 2 minute fragments that were selected by the composers themselves. The winner of the public price is: Jan Dertaelen (B). For one year long he will receive tickets for curtural performances (pop-rock concerts, classical concerts, film, theater, opera,...) worth € 2500.
